Four decades in mainframe. Three continents. One consistent approach — go deep, transfer knowledge, and leave systems stronger than I found them.
I started my career at IBM Hursley in the mid-1980s, working on the restructure of CICS — one of very few women at the site. That experience gave me something most consultants never get: a development-level understanding of how the mainframe actually works under the hood.

From IBM, I moved to Tokyo to work for a major US multinational bank, then to New York focusing on Treasury systems and mainframe security. Over the following decades, I consulted across Malaysia, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Belgium — working with some of the world's largest financial institutions, insurance companies, energy firms, and government agencies.
I returned to the UK in 2014 and have been based in Gloucestershire ever since. Belmont Technologies was formally incorporated in 2008, though the roots of the practice go back to the early 2000s through entities in the Channel Islands and Malaysia.
Today, I specialise in CICS consulting, mainframe security and RACF, z/OS systems programming, and security audits and training. Every engagement is delivered personally — no account managers, no rotating team of juniors. When you engage Belmont, you get me.
Beyond client work, I serve as Technical Co-ordinator for Guide Share UK (Europe's premier independent IBM mainframe user group) and am CEO and Co-founder of Mainframe Society, a global online community for mainframe professionals. I host the “Diary of a Mainframer” podcast and am a vocal advocate for diversity in the mainframe industry.
